I can and will help because I've been there. I've been incarcerated in the Federal Prison System. I know what to expect. I know what the feelings are.  I've felt the anxiety you are feeling, the fear of a first unknown in a very intimidating situation.  I will walk you and your loved ones through the uncertainty, the embarrassment you are feeling.

Also included in my service to you is the expertise and experience of my wife, Cynthia.  She is an experienced (20 years) Family and Marriage Therapist and Counselor.  She can and will help you and your family cope with issues you are and will be facing.

Here are commonly asked questions and answers:

How anxious will I be my first day of incarceration?

Tremendously so. Allow yourself to be incorporated into the system. Listen and follow directions. Don't argue or question anything.

Who should I talk to and trust?

Do very little talking to anyone. Allow yourself to ingest as much as information as possible without very much conversation. As an overall genuine suggestion, trust no one!

Can the guards and prison personnel be your friends?

NO. The less contact you have with those persons, the better. They have a specific job to do and they will do it. Those people are not there to be either friends or confidants.

Is there anything I need to take with me when going into jail or prison?

No! Everything you need will be provided.

Should I talk about my crime or why I am even here in jail or prison?

No! Everyone has their own agenda and feelings about the system and why they are there. If there are 500 inmates with you, there are 500 different reasons people are there.

What might be my biggest enemy or problem while incarcerated?

Free time and idle hours can be long and hard if you do not find an activity that occupies your mind.
